Update on Re-Zoning proposal for 19th Street

There has been no decision rendered on this file. To date, the Development
Authority has been working with the Applicant to select an appropriate land use
district that will support a building form and uses that are compatible within
the community context. A variety of different land use districts, a mix of
districts on the site (split or dual zoning) and even the potential creation of
a DC District in which project specific development design guidelines may be
incorporated to govern future development.
The applicant has provided different building massing and shadow studies to help
inform this process.
The WHCA Planning Committee has been in contact with the Applicant and the City
and will be organizing another meeting with them once alternate plans have been
matured. Although timing remains uncertain, the Applicant hopes to be in a
position to re-engage with the Committee within a month.
